Anawangin 20180505
I have been to Anawangin several times already, my first visit was way back 2008. It was literally a place where only few would attempt for an overnight stay. It was Mike Dela Cruz a local hommie who accompanied us to visit the cove, Mike is also known to be one of the founders of surfing in San Antonio Zambales. I also remember the time where i joined a small group of hikers to traverse the mountain of San Antonio - Nagsasa - Anawangin. From all of my visit, it was the sunset view of the place that holds me and puts me on silence, It is a cleansing activity to watch the sun go down in Anawangin.
It is definitely an awesome experience to visit Anawangin especially when you get to see and interact with a small community of the Zambales own indigenous tribe, the Aetas. Aside from the vibrant scenic view and the community, its beach and natural structure will also catch everyone's attention. The cove is surrounded with pine trees and during the wet season you can witness fresh water stream that piles into its swamp area.
​I simply enjoy the place because it will literally separates you from your local mobile network, the place offers you zero signal, all it can provide is a time for capturing moments and to enjoy nature. There is no fancy room to accommodate travelers so it's ideal to bring tents or pitch a hammock along the camp site.
